Le Baton Française Joinville Method

Earlier I posted the following articles:

Although it's said that "A picture is worth a thousand words.", when it comes to the martial arts, still pictures won't do the art in question justice. Here's a video by Craig Gemeiner on the Joinville Method of the two-handed stick which is similar to the Defense dans la Rue Le Baton as well as Alfred Hutton's Great Stick of the articles.





Le baton (Baton) is the French two handed long stick. A simple yet highly efficient weapon Le baton was integrated into the French army regiments and Savate salles during the 19th century.

The Joinville military baton system contains a history and tradition that can be traced back to the 1800s where its use was an important part of both commissioned and non-commissioned officer's physical training.
