With gracious permission from Bobbe Edmonds, I'm reposting here a short and powerful piece he wrote about living your life and not putting off things you want to do or say. Recently I lost an uncle and cousin.Their passing has been on my mind. The below piece resonated with me and I hope it empowers you in your Sojourn of Septillion Steps.
For the second time in as many years, I'm faced with losing a very close friend to a sudden and unstoppable disease. I'm not going to go into details, but I want to say something that I realize has been said to death in these situations...but I am only just know realizing their importance.
LIVE YOUR LIFE.
Is there something you want to do? A place you want to go? Someone you love?
Do it. Go there. See them. Now.
Not tomorrow, not next week, or "when I get the money/time/inclination".
Go now.
Create good memories, do things you'll enjoy reliving later on. Make history, be the change, just f*cking DO IT. Be bold, say inappropriate things, make waves and be bamboo under the fingernails of your adversaries. Fulfill your appetites, ignore your detractors.
Make a noise so loud, they hear it in other countries. Say things so outrageous, they translate it into other languages out of sheer disbelief. Get fatwas issued against you, make the Pope condemn you, live so that no one doubts your sincerity.
Time goes by faster than you think.
NOTE: My heartfelt appreciation to Bobbe Edmonds for his piece as well as his gracious permission in posting to my site.
