Inktober Day #11- Trapping's "Pak Sao"



Continuing with drawing a pictue a day for "Inktober"... here is Day #11- Trapping's "Pak Sao".

  1.  "A" backfists "D".
  2. "D" throws up an arm to block.
  3. "A" slaps down onto "D"'s arm to clear the obstruction


Comments:

In this day and age of MMA, I think Wing Chun Kuen and Trapping has gotten a bad rap. Perhaps it's MMA not thinking broadly or perhaps WCK is thinking too narrowly or perhaps both :)

Do not be fixated on trapping for trapping's sake! Think hit!

Be like water to flow. When water meets an obstacle, it finds a way to continue to flow. Visualize a stream with rocks in it. Think of how the water flows and when the water meets a rock, it flows around it and continues flowing downstream. Does water stand still at the rock and say, "Get out of my way."? No, it just finds the way to continue to flow. If we look at Western Boxing's parries, you will see examples of trapping including the pak sao.  Pak Sao is your Friend.

Clear any obstructions and strike!
